I recently “flipped” this mid-century modern footstool that we found at a Goodwill store for only $6.99! Since we are redoing my room, we bought this stool to restore and use for my room (future room tour/makeover coming soon!). On a lot of websites, this kind of Mongolian fur stool is selling for $100-400+ dollars! So I thought, “Why not!” Here is how we “DIYed” it….
So little ol’ me forgot to take a “before” picture of the footstool…. Luckily I found this picture on Google of the exact same stool!
Inspiration, not so much inspired by the pri$e…
Shared inspiration (not) comes from my Uncle Ryan…he posted this to his FB page without knowing I was working on this project. Kudos to your impeccable style Uncle Ryan! 😀
So the first step we did was lay out the fabric and stool face-down to measure where to cut.
After cutting evenly on all sides, time to staple!
Just keep stapling until all the fabric is in place! This is a super easy DIY, but you save SOOOO much money, and you can say you made it! Another thing you could do is repaint the brass/gold caps on the bottom, but I feel that takes away from its character.
That’s it! Thank you so much for visiting my blog!
Until Next Time,
